Legacy Circle

The McCallum Theatre is unusually privileged to have a significant number of donors who have provided for the Theatre in their afterlife charitable planning.  “Planned gifts” are usually made in consultation with attorneys, tax accountants or other financial advisors.

Among the instruments most frequently used in making a planned gift to the McCallum Theatre are bequests (wills), charitable remainder trusts, and charitable gift annuities. In addition to these gift methods, there are other philanthropic investment instruments that also have important charitable gift applications.

When the traffic in Los Angeles became more troublesome that we wished, we moved to the desert full time. I knew that I would miss the rich performing art scene in L.A. and my volunteer experience with the Music Center of Los Angeles County. ENTER THE MCCALLUM THEATRE!! I love the theatre itself where there is not a bad seat in the house and I am thrilled with the diversity of shows available. The symphonies and the musicals and the variety of performers are very exciting. Most of all I found that I was able to continue my volunteer life with the Education Division of the McCallum (the Institute), serving about 40,000 children a year. Because of how important the Theatre is to this valley, now my home, I am pleased to name the McCallum in our Charitable Trust. I hope this will help keep the arts alive in the Coachella Valley.

How we love the McCallum Theatre! It provides outstanding entertainment year in and year out. Its educational arm, McCallum Theatre Institute (MTI), brings thousands of children from the entire Coachella Valley and beyond to the theatre for an introduction to the performing arts. Our most favorite event each year is Open Call, which gives local talent the opportunity to perform on a world class stage. It truly is “our theatre,” and we are pleased to support the McCallum Theatre, whether through a planned gift, Bowling for Bucks, membership in The Muses and Patroness Circle, attending the annual gala, Board membership or any other opportunity.

“We make our philanthropic decisions with much forethought. What we like about the McCallum Theatre Institute is the focus on children and the positive impact arts education has on their total development. We understand the pronounced impact the McCallum Theatre Institute conveys by offering exceptional arts education programs to more than 40,000 schoolchildren a year throughout the Coachella Valley. We are secure in knowing we are investing in future generations.”
